COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • To define and establish the essential role of breast ultrasound and differentiation of benign vs
malignant breast lesions and also as an image guided biopsy technique and a complementary tool
to mammography and stereotaxy in the workup of breast pathology.

  • To Correlate mammography, breast ultrasound, magnetic resonance, digital mammography and pathology: diagnostic and interventional techniques. Imaging of in situ vs invasive carcinoma.
    Imaging of lobular carcinoma.

  • To define and assess the role of screening breast ultrasound, screening mammography, magnetic resonance and digital mammography in high risk patients.

  • To define and assess the role of the surgical oncologist in the treatment of breast cancer.
  • To discuss thyroid ultrasound imaging and intervention along with pathological correlation.
  • To discuss the role of MR Imaging in the diagnosis of a neuro (brain and spine), bone, solid
    abdominal organs and GI pathology.

At the end of this MR seminar the participants will not only expand their clinical MR knowledge but will also learn by interacting with the experts, ways to improve their diagnostic MR accuracy. They will also learn to use MR, as an efficient diagnostic and complementary tool to CT and Ultrasonography, in order to achieve a more accurate diagnosis of pathology.
